In addition, it contains detailed instructions and is a companion to the Tree Marie Soapworks YouTube video, “Black & Gold Charcoal Soap with Textured Top, Tips on Making a Smooth Bar (Technique Video #14).” And it’s also a Palm-Free Vegan recipe!
Making this soap requires basic soap making skills, so if you have never made cold process soap, you should get a few plain batches under your belt first (no color and no fragrance batches).
Technique Skill Level: Intermediate
Please note that it’s been changed from an 8-bar recipe (as in the video) to a 10-bar recipe. Also, note the spray-on top has varying degrees of success. To avoid clogging the nozzle, use a mica 10-60 microns or smaller and wash the sprayer immediately after use. Please also note that the mica-top is only a novelty and will wash off when it comes into contact with water. (This is normal for any application of mica to a soap top.)
