This is a recipe download that goes along with the YouTube video, “How to Make Chevron Swirl Cold Process Soap (Technique Video #31).” It’s a Palm-Free and Vegan recipe. This recipe uses the same base recipe as the “Budding Vine Swirl Cold Process Soap.”
The technique used here is an advanced technique and isn’t recommended for beginners. The technique also requires the understanding of trace and working quickly. It is essential to use a fragrance that does not discolor or accelerate. Patience is needed to get the batter to proper trace. Do not over stick-blend. Check out the video here.
(The Palm-Free Vegan base recipe can be used for any other soap batch and is suitable for beginners.)
This technique uses a 9-Bar Slab Mold. If you want to make your own slab mold out of a cardboard box and liner, check out this video.
This technique also uses a homemade divider with 9 divisions (see video). You can make your own. Check out this video. You can make this soap without a divider. Just pour the batter in stripes.
This recipe contains these ingredients (Please only buy this recipe if you are comfortable with these ingredients.): Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Fragrance, Castor Oil, Sodium Lactate, Kaolin Clay, Titanium Dioxide, Micas, Ultramarines, and of course Water and NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide).
This download includes a list of ingredients denoting weights used (not just percentages) and a list of supplies need to make this soap. It also contains instructions and is a companion to the Chevron Swirl Video.
